Meet Pangil

Meet Pangil (local dialect for “fang”)most likely the country’s oldest living crocodile in captivity at the Crocodile Park here in Davao.  At 18 feet long, it was the longest captured reptile until Lolong, the recently caught 20.5-feet long giant in the murky waters of Agusan Marsh (update: it died).  Imagine how big that other croc is.

All photos by Rhonson Ng who was lucky enough to be allowed to get inside the cage with the caretaker.

Pangil (dialect for fanged tooth), is an old resident of Davao Crocodile Park since as far back as I remember.  He is definitely not gone, and not forgotten.
