SM Lanang Premier ushers in a sparkling, joyous Christmas
with Mindanao’s tallest indoor holiday tree
The region’s premier shopping and lifestyle hub, SM Lanang Premier, will jumpstart the holiday season with an enjoyable program for kids and families this coming Saturday, November 16.
At 6 pm, the Atrium will be filled with the festive spirit as the mall holds its ‘Sparkles of Joy’ Christmas Launch. Highlights of the event will be the lighting of Davao’s and Mindanao’s tallest indoor Christmas tree and the annual gift-giving to benefit the city’s day care children.
Aiming to spread joy this Christmas, the ‘Sparkles of Joy’ theme is based on the concept of stars and sparkling lights as symbols of light in the darkness, inspiring hope even in the midst of difficult circumstances. It is embodied in the colorful stars and the glistening lights adorning the Atrium and the rest of the mall areas, including The Fountain Court and The Grand Boulevard.
The main attraction is the giant indoor holiday tree, towering 57 ft. high above the Atrium, which makes for a hard-to-miss, truly fascinating sight. Decked with thousands of lights and loads of gold and white stars as well as red and silver embellishments, the tree was built for 5 days and nights by a team of 15 decorators.
An exciting added attraction this year is the Hello Kitty around the World Parisian Holiday Set, which will include a striking Eiffel Tower installation among many other enticing pieces to the delight of kids and the young at heart. SM Lanang Premier is one of the very few venues of this Hello Kitty spectacle across the country.
Through the mall’s partnership with Davao City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO), 50 kid beneficiaries from day care centers in Ubalde, San Antonio and other communities near Lanang will also be presented with gifts during the program.
In addition, SM Lanang Premier’s Christmas Launch will serve as a platform to promote greater awareness on SM Foundation’s Operation Tulong Express and how the people can contribute their donations to help the victims of typhoon Yolanda.
The Christmas Launch has been an annual tradition of SM Lanang Premier and all SM malls nationwide to mark the holiday season. Last week, SM City Davao also celebrated its launch with the unveiling of the Enchanted Christmas Forest at The Annex.
