Canon announces new President and CEO

Canon Marketing Philippines Inc.(CMPI) is proud to announce the appointment of Lim Kok Hin as the company’s new President and Chief Executive Officer starting last July 1, 2014. He replaces Alan Chng, who is now President and CEO of Canon Marketing Thailand.
During a special lunch meeting with the Davao media in Seda Hotel, Mr. Lim said that when he was notified of the transfer, he looked forward to seeing the Philippines and what it has to offer. A 30-year Canon veteran, his expertise and extensive high level industry experience is expected to provide leadership and strategic vision that would take Canon Philippines forward.
Mr. Lim held several management positions at Canon Malaysia from 1991 until 2006, when he was promoted as Senior Director of Business Imaging Solutions (BIS) at Canon Singapore Pte Ltd (CSPL). He became the Vice President of the BIS group for Southeast Asia in 2011, with overall responsibility for the Sales and Marketing of business imaging hardware and software solutions across 18 countries; these including subsidiaries in India, Malaysia, Thailand, and a representative office in Vietnam. In addition, Lim also served as the head of CSPL Domestic Business Operations and was in charge of the overall growth, sales, marketing and services of the Consumer Imaging & Information Products (CII) and BIS groups for the Singapore market.
The Malaysian born boss holds a degree in Economics from the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom. Married with two children, he is an avid golfer and reader. Armed with a quirky sense of humor, he once reached a goal of eating 200 different Singaporean dishes during his stint in the country. In fact, he has already started exploring in the country by bringing his family to a fun trip in Pagsanjan Falls.
One of his greatest achievements was spearheading the launch of The Ambition Gap in 2010. The Ambition Gap is a program that enables both individuals and companies to become more productive through opportunities provided by technology and create a bridge between expectations and actual goals and ambitions.
The latest Canon Pixma printers and a Canon camera were raffled off to lucky media persons after lunch. Canon’s Senior Manager for Mindanao Regional Operations Karen Cabonce thanked the media in a closing speech for their loyalty and support through the years. Despite the emergence of state of the art mobile phones with good cameras, Canon has remained on top, earning a good share of the market in Mindanao, particularly in Davao and General Santos, which according to Mr. Lim, is the second biggest market for Canon Philippines.
Davao photographers from different clubs and organizations had a welcome dinner with the new President the previous night and had already established an easy camaraderie with him.
