Meanwhile a lot of new attractions have been recently launched. Every establishment seems to be in a heady rush to join forces in the Golden Celebration (think of all the new bars and dining outlets eager to welcome you). Resorts World Sentosa showcases the world’s first Puss In Boots’ Giant Journey, a suspended roller coaster fun for the whole family. For more adrenaline experiences, go for the Singapore Cable Car, Skyline Luge, or the legendary F1 Grand Prix. If you opt for zen moments, visit the blooming Gardens by the Bay, Madame Tussaud’s Museum and other sprouting art galleries, to name a few. There are also year round Singapore Cruises and tours with neighboring Malaysia in the itineraries, offered by Superstar Gemini Cruise and Royal Carribean Cruise. This is also an opportune time to visit Legoland and Hello Kitty Town in nearby Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

The award winning Changi Airport may only be your stopover for a few hours. The good news is that if you have at least 5-6 hours to spare until your connecting flight, you are eligible to join the Free Singapore Tour, one of two free 2.5 hours of guided tours with 2 short stopovers. One is the Heritage Tours which runs 4 times daily or the City Lights Tour which runs twice daily, giving you the opportunity to see Singapore’s sights, sounds, and energy, even for just a short, precious time. Passport, boarding passes and valid entry visa are required for registration, which you have to present at the Free Singapore Tours booths located at transit areas of terminals indicated. Eligibility to participate in the tour is subject to visa entry requirements stipulated by the Immigrations and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore. Registration will close an hour before the start of tour and participants will be guided as a group to clear immigration before it starts. However, availability of seats is on a first-come-first-serve basis, with tour itinerary subject to change upon weather and traffic conditions. More info can be found in

On a fashion note, Singapore Designer Collective (KEEPERS) has launched its second pop-up in Changi Airport Terminal 1 Departure Hall from July 15, 2015 to January 7, 2016. First opened at Orchard Road on Sept. 2014, the 21 square-meter pop-up store at the airport features 11 talented designers on fashion and lifestyle products, providing an accessible platform for local designers to showcase their one-of-a-kind crafts among tourists passing through. With co-organizers Textile & Fashion Federation (TaFf) and Singapore designer Carolyn Kan of Carrie K., KEEPERS is a platform supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), SPRING Singapore and DesignSingapore Council.

“We are delighted by the expansion of the KEEPERS initiative beyond Orchard Road into Changi Airport as it will inject more local flair into the airport shopping experience, making authentic Singapore designs more accessible to a wider audience,” said Ms Ranita Sundramoorthy, Director of Attractions, Dining and Retail, Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the leading economic development agency in tourism and one of Singapore’s key service sectors, aims to differentiate and market Singapore as a must-visit destination by offering a concentration of user-centric and enriching experiences through the “YourSingapore” brand.
