Recently unveiled was the new logo of Kadayawan sa Davao Festival 2012 with its theme of Ten Tribes, One Vibe. Actually, there are already eleven (11) tribes, the recent one being accepted into the group last year during the Kadayawan Festival. So I guess this logo needs to be updated. And no, I didn’t design the logo, the artist was commissioned by the City Tourism Office and City Mayor’s Office. Tweet

The island’s biggest and most pulsating celebration, Kadayawan sa Dabaw Festival, pays tribute to Mindanao’s indigenous tribes as the focal point of the festivities. Derived from the Mandaya word “madayaw”, Kadayawan signifies anything that is of good value, meaning “beautiful, superior, or beneficial”.
